I’m Nick Marasigan, an editor and cinematographer working across long-form YouTube, documentary, and independent film. I currently shoot and edit for StanzFam, turning days of unscripted footage from the Florida Keys and beyond into polished, story-led episodes built for a contemporary YouTube audience.

I came up through independent film, working across camera, production, and directing roles before moving more deeply into editorial and documentary work. That path has taken me from small narrative productions to working with Wildpath on Lasting Hope, an upcoming National Geographic documentary for Disney+, while continuing to shoot and edit long-form digital work.

Most of what I currently work with doesn’t begin with a script. It begins with hours of footage: conversations, changing conditions, unexpected turns, small details, and literally whatever happened in front of the camera. The challenge is finding the story hidden within the proverbial haystack of dailies, deciding what matters, building structure and rhythm around it, and carrying that all the way through to final delivery.

Spending time on both sides of the edit certainly shapes the way I work. When I’m shooting, I’m already thinking about what the footage will need later and when I’m editing, I understand the decisions and limitations that produced it. For me, production and post aren’t separate parts of the process. They’re two sides of the same one.
